What Actually Makes a Good Car Battery
Most batteries sold in the UK come from a relatively small number of manufacturing groups, so the badge tells you less than people assume. Four things genuinely change how long a battery lasts: the correct construction type, adequate cold cranking amps, how long the battery sat in a warehouse before fitting, and whether it was installed and registered properly.
Warranty terms are worth reading rather than skimming. A long warranty on paper means little if it is pro-rata, excludes commercial use, or requires the battery to be returned to a specific place at your cost.
