AGM batteries (Absorbent Glass Mat) are fitted to nearly every stop-start and premium car built since about 2010. They're not interchangeable with standard flooded batteries, fitting the wrong type kills the new one within months.
We stock Tier-1 AGM brands (Varta, Bosch, Yuasa) in the sizes that fit the vast majority of modern British roads: H6, H7, H8 case sizes from 70Ah to 105Ah.

Is an AGM battery better than lead acid?
An AGM battery is a lead-acid battery. The difference is that the electrolyte is held in glass mat separators rather than sloshing freely, which lets it accept charge faster, cope with repeated deep cycling and resist vibration. That makes AGM better for stop-start and heavily loaded cars, but not automatically better for a simple car designed for a flooded battery, where the extra cost brings little benefit.
What matters is matching the original specification. An AGM 115 battery in a large stop-start car, or a smaller AGM in a compact one, is chosen for that car's charging strategy. Type numbers such as 019 and 096 describe the case and terminals; the AGM rating describes what goes inside.
Can you jump start an AGM battery?
Yes. An AGM battery can be jump started like any other 12V starter battery, using the correct connection points, which on many cars are remote terminals under the bonnet rather than the battery itself. A deeply discharged AGM should be tested after the start, because sitting flat can shorten its life. If it tests poorly, a replacement AGM is fitted and coded to the car where required.

Not on a stop-start car, it will fail in months and the BMS will disable stop-start immediately.
