How a Jumpstart Callout Actually Works

A callout starts with a short conversation, not a form. We ask what the vehicle is doing — silence, clicking, slow cranking, cranking but not firing — because those four answers point in very different directions and tell us whether we are the right people at all.

From there it is simple: we confirm where you are and what access is like, agree an arrival expectation, and turn up with commercial-rated starting equipment, test gear and common battery fitments. Most jobs are finished in a single visit, and you leave knowing why it happened.

Key points at a glance

Step one
Symptom check by phone — is it a battery job at all?
Step two
Location, access and vehicle details confirmed
Step three
Start the vehicle, then test battery and charging
Step four
Replace on site if needed, or advise a garage

What this means in practice

  • Tell us the make, model, engine type and roughly where the battery is if you know — it speeds everything up.
  • Access matters: multi-storey, underground, gated site or a tight residential street all change the approach.
  • We test after starting because the engine running is when the charging system reveals itself.
  • If the vehicle needs a garage rather than a battery, we say so on site rather than selling you something.
  • You get told what was measured and what it means, not just an invoice.

Questions we get asked

What information should I have ready when I call?

Your location and access, the vehicle make and model, and exactly what happens when you turn the key. That is enough for us to tell you whether we can help and how quickly.

Do I need to stay with the vehicle?

Generally yes, so we can access the vehicle and hand it back running. If that is difficult, tell us when you call and we will discuss the practicalities.

How do I pay?

We confirm payment method when you book. Business customers can arrange account billing so drivers are not paying at the roadside.

Ready when you are

One call, a straight answer, and someone who arrives with the right equipment.
