Jumpstart & Battery Support for Courier Fleets

Multi-drop work is the worst duty cycle a starter battery can have. Dozens of restarts a day, doors and interior lights cycling constantly, trackers and scanners drawing current, and journeys too short between drops to put back what each start takes out. Batteries in courier vans routinely fail earlier than the same battery in a family car.

The commercial problem is not the battery, it is the round. A van that will not start at 6am puts a whole delivery route at risk before the depot has even noticed. Mobile attendance at the driver's location, with the correct van battery on board, is usually the difference between a late round and a lost one.

Key points at a glance

Typical duty cycle
High restart count, very short runs between drops
Extra electrical load
Scanners, trackers, phone charging, tail lifts
Correct spec
Van-rated CCA, often EFB or AGM on newer vans
Availability
24 hours, including early depot starts and weekends

What this means in practice

  • We arrive at the driver rather than asking the driver to reach us, which matters when a round is already loaded.
  • Heavy-duty packs rated for diesel commercials, so a cold 2.0 or 2.2 diesel is not a problem.
  • Parasitic drain from aftermarket scanners, trackers and dashcams is checked, because it is the recurring cause in this sector.
  • Where a battery is finished, we can replace on site with the correct van specification and register it if needed.
  • Repeat failures across a fleet often trace to one wiring practice or one battery specification choice — we will flag the pattern.

Questions we get asked

Can you attend a driver mid-round?

Yes. Most of our courier work is exactly that — a driver stopped between drops who needs to be moving again, not booked into a workshop.

Do you invoice the operator rather than the driver?

For business customers we can arrange account billing so drivers are not paying out of pocket at the roadside. Speak to us and we will set it up.

Can you check a whole fleet's batteries?

Yes — batch testing at a depot is far cheaper than dealing with failures one at a time, and it lets you plan replacements rather than react to them.

Van down mid-round?

Call us and keep the round alive — mobile attendance, van batteries on board.
